Playing Tip

Give your running back the ball and hold R1 and SQUARE while running. You won’t be invincible, but you will break most tackles.

Cheat Mode

To unlock cheats, look for small, glowing, white orbs (eggs) hidden throughout Transylvania. Stand on one and press B. A message should appear at the bottom of the screen with more information about what was unlocked.

Armory Anytime

Find the large gear room in the Castle Frankenstein’s basement. Stand on the wooden platform on the right side of the room, then use the grappling hook to reach it. Alternately jump on the stallions while fighting Demon Verona on the stagecoach. Get knocked off the stallions by of the brides. An intermission that shows Van Helsing getting dragged under the coach will appear. Repeatedly tap B while under the coach to collect the cheat icon.

Big Head

In mission two, look near the Ghost Body cheat icon to find the Big Head cheat icon near a wagon.

Fell Skin

Complete mission five, then get egg in the well. Defeat the werewolf in the town, and put the egg on a pedestal to get the cheat icon.

Ghost Body

In mission two, look behind the ‘dragon’ door at the start of the train station to find the cheat icon. Use the alternate Tojo blades to collect it.

Small Fiend

In mission six, enter the side entrance to the castle. After defeating the werewolves, walk to the lion gargoyle that is pouring water and press B. The cheat icon is in its mouth.

Translucent Body

In mission two, get past the train station area and look behind the ‘dragon’ door.

Unlimited Speed

Just after entering the side courtyard of Castle Frankenstein, turn left (in the direction of the tower). Double jump around until you can see the cheat icon. Use the grappling hook to reach it.

Completion Bonus

Once you have completed the game and wait for the credits to roll, you will be prompted to save your game on a new game option. Do so and you can start the game with all previously unlocked cheats, power-ups, and items.

Defeating Enemies

When a Boss or other strong enemy grabs you, keep pressing L (Shoot) to take away great amounts of life away from them.

Defeating Vampires

When you get to the part where you have to fight the three Vampires, take out the one on the left first. When the center Vampire is going to attack, she will make a screeching type of sound. When she does that, get ready to dodge her attack. When she uses her lightning attack, hide behind the pillar. When you take out the Vampire on the left, the center Vampire will transform. The transformed Vampire will land on the ground and remains still. Back away and do not get hit when she dives after you. If you follow this and attack at the correct times, you should be able to defeat them.

Mission one cheat icon

When you first can use the grapple, you will see something white glowing. It is the cheat icon. After using your grapple, jump and get it.

Unlimited Ammo

Complete the game on hard difficulty.

Power Clothes

Beat the game on any difficulty and finish each level with your hat on.

Werewolf

When fighting the Werewolf the second time, when he gets up on the wall and starts to run around he will roar before attacking you.

Show Opponent’s Thoughts

At any time during the game, press C-Up, C-Down, Up, Down, Left,

and Right. When your opponent makes a move, you’ll see a row of scrolling numbers at the bottom of the screen telling you where it’s going to move next.

Alternate Board

Press C-Left or C-Right during game play in tutorial or 2D mode.

Password screen

Highlight “Game Status” at the Options menu. Then press L1 + R1.

Rapid fire

Enter “RAPID_FIRE” as a password to remove the delay when shooting weapons.

Super missiles

Enter “BLAST_FIRE” as a password to increase the damage from missiles.

Faster cars

Enter “MORE_SPEED” as a password.

Heavier cars

Enter “GO_RAMMING” as a password to increase your car’s weight and ramming ability.

Fast action

Enter “QUICK_PLAY” as a password to enable a random fast action arcade feature.

Attract enemies

Enter “UNDER_FIRE” as a password to have three enemies attack simultaneously.

Slow-motion mode

Enter “GO_SLOW_MO” as a password.

No enemies in arcade mode

Enter “HOME_ALONE” as a password.

No gravity

Enter “NO_GRAVITY” as a password to reduce gravity to the point that your car will almost float when a bump is hit.

High suspensions

Enter “JACK_IT_UP” as a password.

Big wheels

Enter “GO_MONSTER” as a password.

No wheel attachment icons

Enter “DRIVE_ONLY” as a password to disable wheel attachment icons from spawning.

View all ending sequences

Enter “LONG_MOVIE” as a password to view all endings in one continuous sequence.

Same cars in multi-player

Enter “MIXES_CARS” as a password to allow more than one person to select the same car in multi-player mode.

Original levels

Pause the game, remove the game disc, then insert the original Vigilante 8 disc. If done correctly, the message “V8 levels enabled” will be displayed. Insert the Vigilante 8: Second Offense disc again. Then, quit the current game to access the original Vigilante 8 levels as well as the new levels.

Invincibility

At the password screen type Invincible backwards ELBICNIVNI.

All Cars Have Maximum Stats

Enter the code Hotrod All backwards LLA DORTOH to get a new chasis for all the vehicles.

Unlock all characters

Enter the code Unlock All backwards LLA KCOLNU to get all the vehicles.

Vigilante 8 Levels

Enter OLD LEVELS on the password screen to get the origional Vigilante 8 levels.

Automatic Win

Select an opponent, then hold L1 + L2 + R1 + R2 and press X at the confirmation screen (the last screen before the fight). Instead of fighting your opponent, the screen will turn black and display the message “Now Loading”. Press X to return to the profile screen and win the bout without actually fighting.

Change Attributes

Press Start + Select during game play to change your boxer’s attributes.

Hidden Fighters

Successfully use a single boxer to defeat all the hidden fighters (Jackal, Dragon, John Summers, Gonzo, and Panther) when challenged. Save that boxer, then enter exhibition mode. Press Triangle to display the load character screen. Press Triangle to exit the screen without loading. Jackal, Dragon, John Summers, Gonzo, and Panther will now be selectable.

Weapon Selection

Pause gameplay then shoot outside of screen to select any weapon (that you can use in the game).

Race against same car

Highlight the single race option then press L + A.

Race against same car color

Highlight the single race option then press R + A.

Invincibility

Enter XXEVMOOZGNAB as a code at the cheats screen.

Level select

Enter XXEVERUTUF as a code at the cheats screen.

Super jumps

Pirate ship game in the below

In the pirate ship game with the three pirates from the belly of the large beast, it is easier to not try to change the colors of the squares yourself. Instead, watch the board and let the cannonballs do the work for you.

Blade Punch

Hold X to repeatedly hit with your blade.

Claw Slam

Press X, L to jump and slam your claw into the ground.

Rock suit

After the Talon’s tutorial, when the blind guy wakes you up, jump to the column in the middle that has fire on it, but do not touch the fire. After that, arrange yourself so that you are on the left side facing the exit. Hop into the fire, and rocket yourself out to the left. Proceed towards the blue rings. You will be teleported to the red tapestry. Climb to the top of it and grab the red disk. Afterwards, jump off either side to exit the tapestry.

Infinite combo

Keep tapping X for as long as desired to perform an infinite hit combo. Note: Your enemy cannot fall off a cliff or hill or the combo will stop.

Super move

Use combos to increase the super move meter in the top right corner. After it is flashing, press R to execute a super move.

Fly suit

In Dragons Reach (level 2), climb up the dragon’s tail. Continue climbing until you reach the yellow poles on the slippery ground. Climb the first and jump to the others. On the last one, turn to your left and try to do a long jump to a small platform with a jump pad on it. You will be rocketed over to the plateau. Walk around it. The fly suit is on the other side. Note: The jump to the jump pad may require some adjustments on your part.

All cars and trophies

Press L1, R1, Left, Right, Left, Right, Up, Down, Up, Down, X, X + Select at the game progress screen. Then, highlight the empty square and press X to unlock the car and trophy.

Enter these codes in the name box. you must quit and start a new race to change. After entering the code choose your car, select time trial from the game mode screen, go to Corsica and chose any course. You will be on a track you have never done before. It may not be on tarmack.

Super jumps

For high flying mode, enter _FLY_ in the name box. Remember the space before and after. Now, everytime you hit a jump, you will be launched twice as high.
